I am very influenced by fashion. To be more specific Sneakers, Skating and Tattoos. I also enjoy good food and travel as much as I can. I remember getting a paper route just so I could go to Athlete's Foot at the time and get my first pair of NIKE's. All I'm saying is: My name is Jose and I'm a Shoe-A-holic! Werd!Read more about me »

Stores come and go but Flight Club New York has managed to get stronger and stronger. With 2 locations in the city and 1 in Los Angeles it’s fair to say: They are the largest Consignment store in the United States right now. Not only a consignment store but they were the first to provide sneaker heads a place to find ” Dead Stock” rare kicks. This is why I’m posting some images from their new store at 812 Broadway. Werd!

When I first saw this I thought it was just another model of fix gear wheel but wait, it’s much more than that. It’s actually a way to know what is going on around the city with traffic, pollution, etc. It also helps you stay connected with other cyclist in your area… Werd!
Action Sports and photography go side by side. What would the athlete coming up or looking for notoriety do without a photographer? What would the action sports world do without a photographer? I enjoy a good video but there is nothing like a good photograph. A photograph captures the essence of the moment. The impact of a photo can be so profound that even the scent of the moment could come back to your memory every time you see it…
A couple of weeks a go I sent some questions to my photographer friend Matt. Although his wife was about to give birth at any second that week, he still took a few minutes to answer my questions! Werd!

TransWorld Skateboarding Skate & Create 2010.
The last couple of years TWS has taken different teams through a creative challenge. Each team gets 9 days to come up with a skate video inside a warehouse. Each team gets a photographer, art director, obstacles and video crew. At the end of the 9 days TransWorld picks a winner. The winner gets the cover and automatically enters onto next years Skate & Create contest. Each team consist of 4 pros and 2 ams. This year my favorite video was the Lakai team with Ty Evans as the director. Watch all the videos and see which one you like best after the click. Werd!
I remember the first time I saw a pair of “Janoski’s”, I was not impressed. It took me a minute to get in to them, to say the least. Now, it’s one of my favorites. The “Janoski” reminds me of a boat shoe. It’s mad comfortable and if your are planing on skating it most likely you will need a half size smaller. The shoe stretches like crazy. Regardless it’s a well put together shoe.
This new color way will be out some time in the fall. Till then look at these photos and start adding things to your wish list. Werd!

Converse-Skid Grip-Cvo OX under $30
I love to shop. I do it every chance I get. I visit Luxury stores, Independent stores, Boutiques, etc. I like to see what’s out there. I’ve learned to stay fresh without having to go broke. Lets face it, every week a new shoe drop’s. Some are must have’s and some are just plain horrible. Keeping that in mind being a shoe head, collector or whatever you want to call it, can get quite expensive; moreover, there are way too many releases to try keeping up.
So I’ve taken it upon my self to show you where to find good products at reasonable prices while still being able to support our local retailers. TheWordInTown.com is all about supporting our local businesses. Werd!

So many shoes not enough demand (no buyers)! Mark downs are everywhere…
For the most part Lazaro may seem like he is over it most of the time; however, once you get to know him you realize that he is a good dude. Laz has crazy style and skates fast. While talking to him I realize how much skate knowledge he has. The dude knows his shit. I got to ask him a few questions and here is what he had to say:
